There's a lot here to digest. But the thing that jumped out at me was when you were saying that the verses in Matt.5 weren't trying to lay a bunch of guilt on us, but just explaining that God has to forgive even our thoughts to accept up, so that no man can boast that he is more acceptable to God than another. I've never heard it explained that way, and it makes sense. We shouldn't look at the adulterer and think to ourselves that we are better before God than he. So instead of beating ourselves up with guilt over our thought life, we should praise and thank Him for accepting us in spite of our thought sins as well as our other sins. Thanks for the insite. I'll have to mull that over as I read the Bible.
