If you say: "Jesus' apostles were Peter, James, Philip, Judas and others", this is a summary. It probably does not constitute good information, but it is nevertheless correct. But if you say: "...the son of Heli, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melki", this is a logical statement that can only be correct or incorrect. You cannot just say "the son of Heli, the son of Melki" in order to summarize, as this would be wrong. Therefore, if you believe that the Bible is truthful in all it claims, you also have to believe that there actually were 80 generations. WP |
