There is nothing wrong with social customs. Whether the way we marry today matches the way it used to be thousands of years ago isn't really important. It doesnt affect the belief that sex is something reserved for marriage. I think the most important part of marriage is that it is a covenant made between two people before God. Aside from that, I dont believe it is important what customs we use, the covenant is the important part, the fact you are promising before God that you will be one with this person until death.
