Does this means that EVERYTHING our bodies desire is wrong? And no, I don't mean food or drink, those are unescapable. But the desire for success, love, happiness...are those wrong? Well, basically, it's like this; there are those who will listen to Jesus, there are those who will ONLY worship pharisism. For the former, ethos stand the commandment; love your fellow being and do good unto them, letting NOTHING stand betwixt yourself and such service to God, holding no regards for those heavy burdens which the pharisee enjoy casting upon another to make themselves appear, falsely, holy in the eyes of men. For the latter... ::shrug:: Well, whatever trivial bit of Christ-downcast Law as can be blown out of all proportion and used to defame Jesus and his followers, so be it. That which stand foremost danger to such is that someone will take up the cross and follow Jesus... that such might assert that none hold right to judge with contempt before God, for the justification of such is their power before man. That such might assert that the whole of the law is fulfilled thusly, to love one's fellow being as one's self, because this would unmask their justification to hatred under perverted Law crucified, of love founded, and thus yet fulfilled. They fear that one might again hold those who hold themselves and are held by men first, last, and again put those held last, first. Et alli. I could go on for hours. If one is casting down Jesus to ressurect the crucified Law (funny, I thought that of the two, t'was JESUS who was ressurected... gee...), well, heterosupremacy is the most traditionally popular. That's it, quite frankly - that it earn favor in the sight of men. If one is taking a (forbiddenly-)legalist reading of scripture, having cast out the reams upon reams of Jesus' views on scribes, lawyers, and pharisees, or the repeat 'I know and am convinced in Jesus that nothing is unclean,' in a desperation to find SOME letter which might give legalist grounds to honor man on BIBLICAL grounds - paedosexuality is the only thing permissable; to lie with a woman is to 'defile' one's self (Rev 14:4), a MAN may not lie with a MAN (Rom 1:27), which leaves - to the honest pharisee, at least - men and children having sex with children. (who are, of course, not one's own children, to borrow the OT incest taboo - and certainly no animals, again OT). Thus would stand a pharisism which served the BIBLE - neither God nor man. Unfortunately, failing to serve man yields little power in this world; therefore, heterosexist caste-supremacy is what currently avail itself. It's a justification of hatred, a rallying-cry of political power... and it Christianity can be utterly deposed by Pharisism, than such hatred will stand all that remain - and caste-warfare shall be attributed to all who seek God. ::sigh:: Because of these is the name of God slandered against the unbelievers. It's sad, really - especially since it is QUITE explicitly NOT God's fault; God is not the author of hate, nor did He place one above the next, but lay low that which is proud, and raise that which is humbled. Have you ever witnessed one, say on this board, driven off in anger for following the former of these two paths? Why would one who did love God, wish to drive a person away from a gathering of those who serve Him? Why would those who had faith in God's judgement be so hasty to appoint themselves His authority? I wish I could halt the driving away of Christians; I wish I could cease that confusion which leads to God being hated, accused of the violation by those who take His name of the very things He represent. Such is not in my power alone; would that I were complete in my understanding of God's path unto His many ends. I will ask Him for guidance. |
