that going against God is going against those scriptures. Surely you cannot believe that they are telling us to live however we want, screw the consequences.....

You cannot pick and choose your verses. We are not bound by the law WHEN we live as God intends us to live. When you give in to your fleshly desires, such as unnatural sex (homosexual activity) you are making yourself a slave to sin.
