I'm back

I've been away for a couple weeks and just wanted to say hi and I'm back. I had a small stroke on Thanksgiving and have been in the hospital and rehab. It came on rather slow with blurred vision and loss of balance. I thought I was just feeling the effects of some potent wine, lol. But when I started to have weakness in my left arm and leg, along with noticing when I shaved that my face was drooping a bit, I decided to go to a neighbors since I live alone and wasn't sure what was happening. It was then that I discovered that I couldn't talk without slurring. So he took me to the hospital where they did a bunch of tests and told me I had a mild stroke. The vision and balance cleared up pretty fast but the paralysis got worse at first which scared the hell out of me. But it eventually started to improve, and I expect to be back to normal (or as normal as I get) in a few weeks. I can't possibly read all the posts I've missed, but have scanned them and read a few. It's good to see everyone so active here. It's a little hard to type right now, but I'll try to put in my 2 cents from time to time. Dakota |
