The Gift

Greetings to Everyone here in Christ's Name Last sunday I went to the Christmas program at my church. It was an evening program that the young children put on every year. I am not going to go into all of the legal stipulations that might have held me back from attending this event, but I was fairly nervouse about being there. But my good friend Pastor Joe asked me to go with him to the program and, to be honest, I would not have missed it for all the money in the world! When we arrived the place was packed. But we found a seat in the very back of the church and could not see very well. So when the children began to sing, Joe asked me if I wanted to stand in the back instead. I hesitated for almost a minute because I knew I would stand out like a sore thumb, but (...twist my arm off....) I finally said "Ok", and off we went. Oh what a treat it is to watch those beautiful little ones sing songs and hymns of Christmas! "Joy to the World", "The First Noel", "Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel", "Oh Holy Night", and my personal favorite, "Silent Night"!!! Yes indeed, hark the harald angels sing.....they did, they did! God's precious little angels DID sing that night and all who were present were so blessed by a choir of energetic and somewhat awkward voices; innocent of the world's fallen cares, lifting thier dearest hearts to God who loves them so deeply! It lifted the hearts of all present. Joe whispered in my ear, "Chris, it just dosen't get any better than this." I couldn't agree more. And so I say to all here the words written long ago, but placed forever in the hearts of God's children: "In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and He was God. Life itself was in Him, and this life gives light to everyone. The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it." "So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen His glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father." Gospel of John, Chapter One, Verses One, Four, Five, and Fourteen, New Living Translation The Gift? For me it was one blessed night of angels singing and the renewell of love within my own heart. Praise God! Praise the Holy Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ! And I would like to give this gift to everyone here as well. Though the world may press it's evil in on every side and we grow weary of it, the light of our Lord within us is so much greater!!! Joy to the World Forever! And may God bless all of my brothers here with a special blessing....a Gift, if you will. His Gift is Love; may we all recieve it abundantly. Overflowing from our hearts and lives to all the world around us, wherever we may be, werever we may go, for the rest of our lives! Amen! Though we are but a small group among God's "lost sheep", though our voices a rarely heard by man, but always heard by God; and perhaps we get overlooked by many. Our dear Father faithfully loves us, each and every one of us, and gives us his gracious gift of love!!! I wish everyone here a very blessed Christmas with all of my heart.
