Hi RF,

My first thought is that if you still look anything like the photo, you should not use it as a sigpic here. That is simply a security concern. Someone who knows computer graphics can prepare the picture so that it would be very difficult to extract an accurate likeness of you, however.

While other boards have had a tradition of using a picture of ones younger self, here at CBF sigpics have been less commonly used, and we have a variety of pictures of boys, pictures of things, and computer-generated graphics.

Personally, I think it is neat when a sigpic says something about the person's personality, or values, or how they see themselves. It can be an opportunity to be creative in an artistic way.

While, obviously, a sexually-suggestive photo would not be appropriate for CBF, there should be nothing wrong with more usual pics. If a poster is unable to stop himself lusting over your boyhood family photo, then there are issues there that we are not going to fix by turning sigpics off.

This pic is me, taken on the day that I asked my Dad if I could come live with him. It is a picture of a boy who very much needs a man to love him. This picture marks a moment in time when it was still not too late to make a huge difference in the life of a boy, for within days I would realize consciously that I was rejected and unloved. It is a reminder to me of the incredible responsibility that I have to love when God places a boy in my life.

My Dad and step-mom would recognize this picture, but if either of them are hanging out at CBF, its time we had a chat about it.

Peace,
Nate

Nate
