An unexpected event + funny moments

Straight after leaving Church yesterday, I went back into town on my way home, when Brock came out of a shop & stopped me. "Hi, Halo, how are you doing, haven't seen you ages. Where are you rushing off to" he said. Continuing "Did you have a good Xmas? Did you get to see your kids?" - "Yes" was the answer to both questions. "I hear you broke up with Elekid & Pichu" he said to me, "Well, it wasn't my choice" I replied continuing "What about you?" - "Me, well me & Pichu have split up." - "Over money?" I asked. "Yeh, I won $50.00 on the fruit machines the other day & he asked for his share of MY MONEY and I said no, so we split up." - "Oh" I replied. "I'm down here with my mum, she's spending some of her Xmas money. Anyway, see you later." With that he gave me a firm handshake & we parted. He had rang me Saturday, I tried to tell him I was too busy to see him, I think his mobile has gone missing as it discarded a message (I had missed 9 unknown calls, probably from him, so he must've been ringing from the house phone.) Also Saturday night, Elekid had visited our venue 3 times & a 4th with Pichu. On all occasions I made myself scarse & the 4th totally turned my back on both of them when they passed. They didn't come to my pay-point said P, they made a point of avoiding it totally. ...... The funny moments came last night. 2 boys came up to the till, started laughing & talking to me at the same time. A 3rd joined them, he was about 12yo, carrying 4 cans of beer. "Have you got any ID?" I asked "I'm 18, honest" he replied, then searched his pockets "Arh, must've left it behind." - "I'll need to see some ID before I can serve you" I told him, with that he left. The next customer came up to me & said "you've got to admire his front" - "Yeah" I replied, thinking jokingly "His back's not to bad either". Later a couple of older boys came in. "How much are those?" they said pointing at something on the shelf. I assumed they were jokingly looking at the contraceptives & replied "$3.50 for the red pack & $4.75 for the blue" - "no.." they said laughing, "the energy sweets" - "ah, those". I then told them that I didn't think there was an age limit on buying those products (& later confirmed it with my Sv), as they both looked at a capable age to use them. "You've got a dirty mind" they said, continuing "Do you have any extra large ones?" - I continued the joke "P, do we have any......" - "Ah, its okay" they said, laughing as they left. Halo |
