DX's Birthday + 'The War' (Eligah Wood)

My yf DX turned 16 the other day. I got him a couple of things, he was surprised & pleased at the same time.

His parents didn't even get him a card (at time of writing). I was sad when I heard it & hugged him "oh, DX" in a loving voice. He said the stuff from me was all he'd received. (He got nothing from them for Xmas either, but got presents from other relatives.)

16 is such an important age for a young person & for his parents to let the event go past un-noticed is something that you just can't conceive. My gf said she will get him a card today.

As he was 16 it meant that he could play the lottery for the first time, so I got him a couple of things relating to thatm but he didn't win anything (I've been told, this morning).

It snowed yesterday for the first time in ages, settled & he Spinarak & the girls made drawings on the pavement & had a big snow fight.

I also saw Metro (he knocked for me), he said he saw me the other day with Rattata & it looked like I was looking around for boys, but to be truthful I was just cold.

I settled down to watch "The War" on TV. Staring a young Eligah Wood & Kevin Costner, who proved once again how good he is when acting with boys (see also A Perfect World). There were a lot of affectionate scenes, which I'm sure that Eligah is used to doing, but Kevin is soo good with boys isn't he.

The film also stared a very young Lucas Black, who went on to play an impressive role in the short lived TV Series American Gothic. He also stared in a film "Sling Blade" which I've yet to see.

The ending always makes me cry in this film, as Eligah's charachter saves a young boy from drowning.
