Hi GiveLove, I have been going through something very similar these past several years. My situation was started by having confessed my attraction to boys to my pastor. Very soon, I found that I had lost all of my ministry involvement in the church, almost all of my friends, and was under scrutiny by lots of people in my small town. Though I tried hard not to lose my connection with God, as the years rolled by with no reconciliation, I became very disappointed in my church. If these people who had been my brothers and sisters could reject me so easily, how could they say they loved God? Well, to get to the point: God used my friends here at CBF to encourage me enough to find a new place to live, and a new Christian community. He is restoring everything that I lost - and it is better than it was before! When I finally got over my hurt enough to enter into worship again, I found that God was right there! So, what worked for me was getting back into relationships - especially with Christians, and getting back into worship. But it is the friendships that I found here at CBF that really pulled me through the hard times. We are glad that you are back. Hope to hear more from you real soon. Peace, Nate |
