I have yet to find ANY of God's laws that are arbitrary, in this new covenant. We are told that ALL of His laws are encompassed into a few simple ones. Love God with all your heart, and love each other as we love ourselves. How, then, could it be wrong, by God, to engage in activity which is loving and beneficial, and it still be against God? I guess the reason I do not struggle with this is because I can easily see how harmful a sexual relationship with any child would be, no matter the circumstances. It instills upon them the wrong view of sex. Sex is no generic display of intense love. Sex is specifically designed for the relationship between a husband and wife. Does that mean that no one can be "as close and/or loving" as a husband and wife? No. It means that only that institution is meant for sexual relations. |
