JR, you and your dad are in my prayers. I pray the best for you both. You both seem to have a great relationship with each other. It is a wonderful thing to read about. I can feel the love from you both, not just for each other, but for others around you as well. Please don't feel you have to be a certain way to fit into the rules of this forum (whether written or not). You're doing just fine, and I think we can learn a lot from you. My stepson was 14 when I last lived with him (his mom and I broke up after several years together), and now I have another 14-year old living with me, my nephew. I'd like my nephew to come here as often as you do and talk about my relationship with him and the many adventures we share, but I just can't take the chance that he finds out everything about me that I have shared here in the last 2 1/2 years. You have something very special with your dad, and it is great that you are able to see that for yourself... to see it for what it is, and share it with others... others like us... (and perhaps others not like us?) ...and for you to be able to have an understanding of who we are, and for you to talk with us from the point-of-view of a YF (young friend). You are so much more than a YF though. I feel blessed to have been able to live with mine, and I know many people here and at another not-to-be-mentioned forum "fantasize" (hmm, bad word choice maybe) often about being able to experience what my YF and you have both experienced, and what your dad and I have both experienced while living with our YFs for several years. I know at least one other person in this forum who can speak to this as well. Please know that you are blessed to have such a strong advocate in your life. Like I said, I pray the best for the BOTH of you. Continue being there for each other, and for those near and dear to you. My prayers are with them as well.
