Just a Little Tease and an Invitation

Hi Everyone,

As Guardian recently announced, the first edition of Youth Attracted Network International, or YANI, will be online Saturday, March 1st. YANI has numerous features that I think you will enjoy. Here is an excerpt from one of the articles I wrote, using the pseudonym "Bronson Montgomery.

Keeping Children and Youth Safe

By: Bronson Montgomery

Being winter, it comes as no surprise to me that it is snowing outside as I write this. But, as I sit here, in the middle of winter's icy fury, I dream of warmer weather, sunshine, and the smell of freshly cut grass. I am reminded of the hot sun, often tempered by a refreshing cool breeze, and sitting on the front porch soaking up the rays, and all the while feeling good about the world, at least my little part of it. I might have a cold drink in one hand, as I inhale the distinct odor of mesquite coming from the barbeque. Simultaneously, I complement myself on my choice of steak, which I had marinated the night before, just so I could enjoy it at precisely this moment.

Ah yes, summer - that carefree season of hot days and warm nights. It’s the time of year when many of us plan vacations, trips to the beach, family reunions, and sit on the porch or in the backyard, just soaking up the essence and ambiance of Mother Nature’s warmth.

But although last summer had those moments, it was also different; for that was the summer of the lost child. It was the summer of every parent’s worst nightmare, where story after story on the national news told us of the horror of yet another child being kidnapped and murdered. The way it sounded, things seemed to be getting worse and worse with every passing year. But, as we reflect back on those terrible events, let us also ask ourselves, "Is there really an epidemic of child kidnappings, rape, and murder or are we simply being exposed to it, via media sensationalism, more now than in the past?"

I hope you will come to YANI on March 1st and read the rest of this article. You will find that "Stranger Danger" is not a child or a youth's worst problem. There are also tips offered for how to really keep kids safe.

Join us as we embark on this exciting new chapter in the online history of our MAA/YAA communities. YANI intends to be a conduit between the more open minded members of the general public and those of us who are both physically and emotionally attracted to children and/or youth. Let's all get behind it and offer the world the collective strength of our caring and talented communities.
