A whole weekend with Squirtle

Yep, I thought he was going home Friday morning, but his Dad came in Friday night & said because of the weather they were staying for the weekend.

I first met up with him again on Saturday. Again no strings, we played the fruities, I won some, lost some, he won some, lost some. I then took him to snooker (his first time on the big tables).

I gently guided him along the rules of the game (without mentioning the 4point foul stroke rule). He found it difficult to aim with his cue, but that didn't bother me. The cue was almost as big as he was & he even passed a comment "I've got little arms & a big stick" which might bring some unusual thoughts to mind???

He commented as well, that most people think he's cute, when he's loosing, cause he puts on a sad face, but he thinks they're silly. I almost told him that I thought he was cute too, but didn't.

After that I took him for something to eat, then we went back to the arcades for a while before I went back for work.

He popped into see me several times, hatching a plan to get hold of some tickets that were thrown out, cause you collect them to get a big prize. He returned later with a whole bag full, which my mate P thought was terrific.

Yesterday, I was late meeting him, but he'd been going around looking for me which was really nice. He'd told his Dad that he was with me & he didn't mind as long as he was safe. I also got to meet him again, so he could put a face to the name. Again we played snooker & variations of the game, along with pool, where I took some pics of him.

He got bored with the game very quickly & started to invent his own versions, which included potting balls without using the white & seeing how many in a row you could pot. He struggled with 2's & 4's & on my turn I cleared the table in about 40 secs to his surprise.

I took some more pics of him outside in the sun, he didn't mind, he said they'd be something to remember him by.

We also played Air Hockey & I'm usually very good, we drew 5-5 with a last second equaliser from me. I hugged him with excitement & then again before we parted for the day. I saw him later in the evening from a distance, he waved, he was assisting the arcade staff again (who he's on first name terms with as well).

Overall assessment: He hasn't got a care in the world & has no fear of anyone. He's affectionate with his father (who btw is in his mid 50's), lives apart from his mum, but see's both parents regularly. He's from a good loving family which is really important & is not afraid to receive affection (hugs) & not afraid to tell someone if there's something he doesn't like. (Not a big fan of his head being patted, stroked is okay though - due to an old lady hitting him on the head with her stick, he said, when he was younger.)

Final comments: A definite candidate for a long term friendship, hopefully leading into adult hood.

He should be back down again in Easter or sooner, when P said he's bound to come looking for me straight away!

Halo :)
