...is a ‘boy lover’. It is from the Greek paiV meaning 'boy' and the verb filoV meaning 'to love'. The fact society in general has twisted it to mean something evil and sinister is of no concern to me, they simply demonstrate their hatred and ignorance. I am a pedophile and I am not ashamed of that fact in the least. Yes, there is a strong sexual component to that love but that is not the only component, nor the most important. One whose 'love' of boys is exclusively or predominantly sexual in nature would be more properly called a 'pederast' - the ending is also from the Greek, the verb eroV, referring to sexual love.
