Paad, A few things for you to consider with the boy: 1) How old is he? Younger boys, even teenagers, can be distracted, as Drifter said in his reply. It is very likly that. 2) How often do you chat online with him? If it's daily, to him it can become boring very quickly. Try making it every few days, or even twice a week. 3) What were you talking to him about? Most boys want to talk about themselves. If you know what he is interested in, talk about that. As an example, I am not a big sports fan, unless you want to count soccer (Or for our overseas brotheres, "Football") and it is a chore for me to keep up on the latest sports news. But, it often helps me relate and opens doors that normally will be closed. 4) Does he surf the web a lot, or play online games? As Drifter said, he may have been involved in something online and didn't pay that much attention to the conversation, wanting to get back to what he was doing. As a suggestion, the next time you are chatting with him, if you get the "one word" answers, don't send a message for a while and see what happens. Do a little surfing of your own and see if he starts talking to you. Don't be discouraged by this. It is normal, even if you were face to face with him. Expect it, don't push the conversations and be patient with him. When you go back to see him in person, things will change again. Ask Brother Paul about his dealing with his yf after he moved.
