Dear Ben, Your decision to study the Bible and explore the Christian Faith with the father of those two boys is admirable and very smart too. It looks like something God would arrange. Keep going, I'm sure it's going to "pay off" in the long (and short) run. I've always found that Bible study with other people, wether one-on-one or in a group, improves my knowlege and love of God's Word much more than anything I can do on my own. Although I try to always include a time of reading the Bible and meditation and prayer alone with God also. If you are still a little dougtful about the existance of God or the truths of Christianity, I would HIGHLY recomend the book "Mere Christianity" by the late C.S.Lewis. I got a copy about 5 or 6 years ago and read and re-read it so much that it's just about worn out now. I'm pretty sure you will love C.S.Lewis. His logical approach to Christianity and the Bible is convincing enough but he also writes from his heart as a Christian. I absolutely love him and have read several of his books and essays. I think Mere Christianity is probably a "must read" for anyone who is becoming quite serious about his beliefs in God. Oh yea, it must also be nice to be able to be around two beautiful boys like that. Enjoy brother, Your's in Christ Jesus, Chris |
