hey ben, I would have to answer your question with a no. Jesus said in John 10:10 " The thief comes only to kill steal and destroy, I have come that you may have life, and have it more abundantly." If you read Duetoronomy(?) 28 vs.1-14 you will find the life that He was referring to. I also don't think that kind of reasoning makes any sense. I mean, who would want to serve a God that makes people sick just to get our attention. I know I wouldn't. Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus, and He deals with each of us on a personal level. He may use other people to correct us (and He often does) through sermons, bible studies, counceling, one on one mentoring, etc., but ultimately it is our responsibility to accept or reject the truth of His Word.
