Just though I'd let you know that your post was meaningful in a way that it wouldn't have if I'd read it when you wrote it. I've very recenlty realized I've been guilty lately of putting the cart before the horse and saying: "Gee, it would be nice to get rid of the world's evils, so I will be a Light" (using being a Light as a means to and end) instead of "I'll be a Light.
