I went to The Bible Gateway's topic search and entered "Salvation" and came up with a lot of verses. Most of them, such as the eye-of-the-needle verse, are context-sensitive, so be careful taking things out of context. I recommend printing out all the references, then looking up the verses in context. After you've read a representative sample, talk to a real-live person about them and the issue of salvation. My personal stance is "grace and grace alone" - anyone, from The Pope to Adolf Hitler, can be saved, and anyone, no how "good" they are, can die condemned (or, if you prefer, unsaved). The grace is available to anyone who will accept it. A word of caution - if you accept the grace, your life will never be the same again, just as your (Ben's) life will never be the same now that you beleive in God. -d (david_tx on IRC) |
