I think d. is making a reference to salvation by grace, that God does not accept or reject you according to your mere actions (he looks at your heart). He is saying that if our salvation (this being the other side of judgment) depended on the things we do, then we'd all be goners. But fortunately salvation, and judgement, is based around Jesus dying on our behalf, it doesn't depend on us. This, by the way, irks jimf3 a lot. He sees it as an abrogation of personal responsibility. I see it rather as giving me the freedom to undo any wrong I have done and to grow in learning to love. F.O.D. |
