Ask your church exactly what they mean by "Counting the cost". I've not heard that term used in the context of a pre-babtism ritual. A babtist church I belong to sees babtism by water as merely symbolic. They will dunk anyone who has become a Christian and has not since been babtized. They don't do infant babtisms.
