>Now ... How Does One Go About Contacting Their Local Church ... and asking for a family ... With BOYS (like Ben's) to guide me towards the light?

Just wander in. Seriously.

Open up the phone book, find several churches of different denominations, wander in about 15 minutes before the Sunday AM programming starts & talk to someone, pick up the "new visitor" information & a "what we beleive" or "what our denomination believes" package, and watch the demographics of the church (you will be looking for families, I'm sure).

Visit around until you find one that you think will work for you. Participate in social activities such as church dinners, get to know the parents, etc. Find a parent who 1) loves the Lord [should be easy], 2) had the time and interest to teach you [may not be so easy on the "time" part], and optionally 3) has kids [boys] you get along with.

In most churches, this person will be a current or past member of the governing board or a current or past Sunday School teacher. By the way, I highly recommend attending adult Sunday School classes. Not only does it give you another chance to study, but you meet friends also.

By the way, don't give up if the person who guides you doesn't have boys of his own. God will put the right person in your path. Who knows, if you live in {my city} and visit {my church} that person may be me [no kids here, sorry].
