Here's an exciting event I just found out about! It sounds like something many of us would want to get involved with: Jesus Day 2000, to be held June 10, 2000. It will involve cooperation of a wide spectrum of Christian organizations, such as The American Bible Society, Sojourner's, Evangelicals for Social Action, and Promise Keepers. Here's an excerpt from its website (www.jesusday.org): Jesus Day is Millions of people together to demonstrate their faith in practical ways. Jesus Day will begin as the sun rises, with community gatherings where people can come out to find dozens of ways to reach out to the community in Christ's name. Churches, social agencies, and community projects will be available. People with experience will show you how. Throughout the day simple acts of kindness will touch every part of the community--care for the poor, food for the hungry, and new hope for children will fill communities making the love of Jesus inescapable for a day.
