Hey Ben and everyone..... I really enjoyed your post and understand some of your feelings. I'm so glad I found this place. I decided not long ago that I needed to spend less time at the computer and more time reaching out to kids. I volunteered to be a computer lab monitor at a community center where middle school guys hang out and play games after school and I also have four weeks of church camps this summer I've volunteered to counsel at. The more time I spend with youth the less time I have to think about stuff thats not healthy for me. Not long ago I went through a time where I spent hours at the computer at those gay porn sites.....I felt tremendous guilt about that. And I don't identify myself as gay, either, I call myself an uncommitted celibate person. Not sure what I'll be.....but it's no big deal cause I'm living single for God right now and sex will happen when the time comes and I know God will make it right, whatever it is. For now I have sex with myself and don't have any problems with that. I think it's a healthy release and for me one of the reasons I've been able to stay celibate and single. I think the sex drive is a God giving gift and one that the bible gives some limitations on. I don't see masturbation as one of those limitations. A sin is an act which seperates one from God. For me, I don't think masturbation does that (because it doesn't take very long....HE HE) but spending hours and hours surfing gay porn sites is because it takes time away from my life that could have been put to better use. I belong to a fairly liberal church in case you were wondering. I think we all could benefit from spending more time with real boys and would encourage you all to volunteer in some way. There are so many neglected youth in this world who are just looking for someone who cares about them. The celibate Christian boylover is someone who could make a huge difference in the lives of some of these kids. So let's get out there and get to work............. Don |
