So why not maintain a relationship with the kid? If you can control the sexual part of your BL then the kid could only benefit from knowing you. As a teacher you should automatically have the trust and respect of the mother. Just write her back and tell her that if Michael want's to hang out once in a while that would be fine with you. The relationship I have with the parents of the boy I mentor is exceptional, I'm like part of the family now. It took a few months to build their trust but once they got to know me it was no problem. I wouldn't trade the relationship with my mentoree for anything. He's gone as far as saying that if it wasn't for our friendship he might have killed himself by now. It's really cool to see your direct involvement make a positive difference in someones life. I think this is what being a Christian is all about.....loving God and loving his people.....especially those who are troubled....like abused kids. |
