FOD -
First of all, forget the KJV :) It was my kneejerk reaction to the recent accusations by people around me that the NIV is only one translation as if to say an inaccurate one. I just didn't want to be the one to limit anyone to the NIV. In fact, I've compared key passages in the NIV with the KJV and the meaning has been virtually the same. I do believe that the NIV is as accurate as any and much more readible.

I guess I dubbed myself fundamentalist because I take the bible as absolute and I believe that I am responsible for trying to follow it in every way. Indeed, I am a sinful being and I do fall short, but I do not tolerate that shortfalling. I repent and try to become more like Jesus. I do not believe that God is like a candy store where you can just select the things that you like. Even though this conclusion makes being a BL exceedingly difficult, I can only look at the blessings in my life since I have become a Christian (and to this degree) and realize that where there was no hope and no future for my life, there is now one. I don't impose my radicalness on others except when others look at what I am doing, see it's value and want to explore it. I don't judge others who do not view God the way I do...after all, I am not responsible for that, God is.

There is still a part of me that knows where I came from and what I believed beforehand. I try to remind myself of that when I sound too self-righteous :)

You are not alone.
