I might have read Jesus Lover's post in too much of a hurry to get that his intent was to gleefully destroy YOU. Actually, I think it might have been that in scanning over it and not analysing carefully word by word, I just assumed that he was exulting in the defeat of evil in a general sense, because I couldn't believe he would exult in your personal destruction. In other words, I read into it what I wanted to be there, an error that I fear is all too easy to make. I wish I knew how to make all Christians live in the love they profess. I think I might have mentioned before, in my experience I've met "Christian hatred" face-to-face in the attitudes some groups of Christians have towards other groups of Christians, but I suspect it is by nature the same sort of hatred that you have seen with your own eyes with respect to your sexuality. I think it may have something to do with immaturity, a kind of selfish insecurity that refuses to even talk about anything that doesn't fit with what they have already decided. I don't know what this says about the leaders who are propagating this kind of hatred, in either of the two examples. Leaders are not meant to be selfishly immature, and I think it says a lot about the corruption of the "ecclesiastical system" that people like this gain such positions of power. I hope you might someday be able to introduce me to those you know in real life who express their "love" in hatred towards homosexuals. It would probably be helpful for me to better understand where your feelings are coming from. Regards, F.O.D. |
