Two weeks ago, I was without a job, had been unemployed for six months, and my unemployment had run out. My normal bills were barely paid and my car was at the point of repossession. I had to go begging to my dad to help with the car. Currently I only have about $40 in the bank...my life savings.

Last week, I was so desperate that I took a job in a sweat shop. There was no air conditioning and the outside temperature was over 100 degrees. The building was tin over concrete. Few fans. After 7 hours I was so sick that I was throwing up. Finally I gave in and said "to h*ll with it". It wasn't worth it. I left. The next day, I felt like such a failure when I had to explain to my father that I had been hired and lost a job the same day.

I was at the end of my rope. Finally I gave up. There wasn't anything I could do except accept what was happening. I developed the attitude of take my car, take my job, take my life, take whatever you want...I couldn't stop you and what's more I didn't care what was happening anymore.

I've been doing volunteer work down at the library and went in this Monday. The librarian asked me to write your weekly column for her. I said sure, whatever. I did and took it back the next day. The same day the editor of the local paper called and asked me to come in for an interview. I did this morning and I start to work tomorrow. If you knew me, you would know that I like to write. Just being considered for these two jobs pleases me to no end. It's what I've always wanted to do but I was never given the opportunity to prove that I could. Next week's paper will have a column in it that I wrote. Not only that but I will be working for the same paper.

And all that leads up to the moral of this story:
You can't force things to happen. They'll come about in their own good time and most likely when you least expect them.

Just let things happen. God is always with you. The only problem is that we don't always want to hear what he has to say.

Good luck in whatever you decide.
