Dear Christians, I am confused about this problem of Sin and sexuality in this discussion. Most of what I am hearing is based on outdated information from the old testament, which is of no concern of the Christian who follows Jesus' example. He never spoke out against homosexuality or BL or sexuality as a sin. This came much later with the development of the orthodox church. Basically the church forgot the message from Jesus and became a power structure. They were very clever in the way they did this. They declared that all sex was forbidden and sinful unless it was for pro-creation. Remember that? The Catholic still spouts this abusive nonsense at us. As I said it was the church who created that sin, not Jesus and not God. Sex is something that all people do and 99.9% it is not for the purpose of creation! In one foul swoop the church had created all their followers into sinners, with all its consequences. The strongest emotion connected with sin is guilt. Then the church manipulated this guilt for the purpose of their power trip. They used it to make the followers subserviant and to extort them from their money. In the process the purpose of Jesus' message and spirituality was totally destroyed. Therefore when I see people defending sin, sinning and their right to be sinners, I wonder if they ever saw through this scham. |
