Paul was speaking about women who "chattered" in church. The women of Corinth were loud and raucous, shouting across the room at each other and gossipping incessantly. The men were not doing this and didn't need to be reprimanded. When the teacher says to Johnny, "Stop talking Johnny", she doesn't mean that ONLY Johnny should stop talking. It's just that HE is the one who is stepping out of line. The kids who are quiet don't need to be told. You are not alone. Ben |
