Hi heather -- Thanks for your thoughtful post. On a lighter note, when I saw your comment "Uh-oh. This man has never actually spent time with prisoners." I was reminded of an anecdote told by Richard Pryor. While he was preparing for the film Stir Crazy he visited a prison and interviewed several prisoners serving time for some ugly, violent crimes, hoping to really get to know the hearts and minds of his less-fortunate brothers. After the interviews he thought to himself: "Thank God for penitentiaries!" :) -- Bonzo |
