Hi Derrick,

I'm a bit concerned by your statement

It's hard facing the next day, and now I'm looking for a reason, But I think I have found it. and someday soon me and Dusty will be together again..

Please understand, I don't think you mean that to suggest suidide, but sadness leads people to think things in very extreme ways. I speak out of experience, and I know your pain all to well.

I hope Tommy is taking this OK too; I think he needs you most of all right now. He will look up to you in ways you may not even realize. I am praying for him, and for you. I think there are probably hundreds, perhaps thousands world wide that are doing the same. That is the power of prayer and it is the most powerful tool to use against sadness.

Your friend has quietly touched the lives of so many. Your dedication to him is inspiring. My gosh, young men like you are going to change the world, and I think, here and from what Dusty's story has accoplished so far is the proof to say it can happen. How great it is that we can overcome a part, even a sad one, to make our witness that much stronger. Here's another song favorite of mine. I think you can relate to this one too.

The Warrior is a Child
by: Twila Paris

Lately I've been winning battles left and right,
But even winners can get wounded in the fight.
People say that I'm amazing, strong beyond my years,
But they don't see inside of me, I'm hiding all the tears.

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down.
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around.
I drop my sword and cry for just a while,
'cause deep inside this armor, the warrior is a child.

Unafraid because His armor is the best.
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest.
People say that I'm amazing, never face retreat.
But they don't see the enemies that lay me at His feet.

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down.
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around.
I drop my sword and cry for just a while,
'cause deep inside this armor,
the warrior is a child.

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down.
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around.
I drop my sword and look up for a smile, 'cause
deep inside this armor, the warrior is a child.

I'm the child too, I think all of us are from time to time. Even at 60 we can feel as though we are 6. God bless, Derrick, and thanks for sharing your feelings and friendship.

Yours because I'm His,
Oliver
