Yes. But what someone else has already stated, the bible was written by man, who has prejudices, and is fallible. I base my spirituality mainly on feelings and believe the bible is a resource ONLY and not, forgive me, the 'know all and be all' of the truth. In many religions there is not even a WORD for devil or hell but still hold many of the same concepts and ideals as Christianity. Too many times has the bible been misconstrued or the words twisted and used for support for specific beliefs and prejudice. People have used it to serve THEIR needs and not vice versa. So I put very little stock and place very little of my faith in a book which for years has been abused. |
