Hi Everyone, Recently a friend of mine, Jimf3, felt that he was being persecuted for being a homosexual. I do not wish to get into the particular incident, nor name names, but I DO have something to say about this. This is a forum of Christian support for those of us who find it either difficult or impossible to get outside of here. I for one am eternally gratefull to have this place because I do not feel comfortable in a church. And I just recently found out (by reading many posts) that Jimf3 was VERY helpful in making sure we have this forum. And for that, too, I am eternally grateful. In fact, if it were not for this forum, I would probably either be drinking myself into an early grave or actually quite dead by now. And so I feel that attacks uppon persons here because of thier sexual orientation have absolutely no place here at all! I have myself been called names like "sodomite" and such, right here in this good place. I was also told by this person (again I prefer not to name names) that I could not possibly be a Christian because I am a Boylover. I could have argued with this person big time but Bach decided (and rightly so) to delete his nasty posts. I, as a Christian, can forgive such a person, but we do have some non-Christian persons who frequent this forum. I'm not saying that they CAN'T forgive, but maybe for some reason or another, they decide they won't. This could be the ONLY place these non-Christians feel welcome or feel that they can be open to us with how they feel. And this might just be the only place where we, as Christians, canreach out to them. I find it VERY frustrating when they say they do not feel welcome here. In short, if you happen to feel that Boylovers or Homosexuals or any other person with a sexual orientation OTHER than Heterosexual is a bad person because of thier orientation, or if you feel that we cannot be Christians because of our orientations; then I would appreciate it if you keep these thoughts to yourself, as they are NOT welcome here. We have feelings just the same as anyone else and, indeed, some of us have probably had these feelings stepped on one too many times. That is precisely why we are here in the first place, to be able to share our faith, hopes, and lives with each other (and anyone else who might be interested) WITHOUT having to worry about being persecuted. This is OUR forum, and we do love to share it with any and all newcomers, but not at our own expense. I hope I have not overstepped any kind of "boundries" in saying all of this but it is something I felt very strongly to say. Your's in Christ's Love, Chris |
