For a moment there I was about to post a "was this an oops" post to you; I even had it written out...only to see that you did indeed write "pedophobe" and not "pedophile." Must be getting senile. Have you, perchance, a copy of the Norton Anthology of American Literature, volume one? Within you will find a "sermon" by ****(?), a minister in early New England, full of fire and brimstone and "God holding man over the pit," comparing Man to a spider...I suppose with roots like that, it's not hard to see how we ended up with today's version, nit-picking apart mostly Old Testement text for nuggets of uprighteousness.
