There are a lot of different ways that one can view the phrase "demon possessed".

If you are angry to the point of rage and you're throwing things around and raging against everyone in sight, you are "demon possessed". If you are driving down the road and weaving in and out of traffic at 100 mph, you are "demon possessed". If you think in a way that does not conform to the majority and insist on being heard, you are "demon possessed".

"Demon possessed" has a lot of different meanings, usually having nothing to do with actual possession by demons. As the above examples show, if you are out-of-control, doing what you want to do with no thought of others or simply insisting on viewing things from a different point-of-view, you are subject to being "demon possessed".

Early Christians actually believed in demons. Christians today (I would believe) seem to take a different tack on the subject. They believe that when one is "demon possessed", it is not actually a demonic act of possession but a demonic influence. In other words, simply allowing yourself to do things that you know are wrong (not referring to you, of course) is the act of being "demon possessed".

Anyway...I'm boring myself with this crap, so I'll shut up now. :)
