Ewok - I can speak from personal knowledge on the two methods that have any chance of actually reform sexual orientation. The first is called behavior therapy, something that I underwent voluntarily (and at significant cost) for many years. Behavior therapy will destroy your ability to feel and to love, will leave you empty and always in need of some other sexual outlet. While I believe that behavior therapy can reduce the frequency of certain behaviors, I have little faith that it can reform someones original sexual orientation. It certainly didn't have any long term success on me. The second way, and what I believe is the only way, is not through anything that man can muster up. God has the ability to transform us, if he so choses. I have committed my life to God, fixing my eyes on Jesus, with the beleif that God will transform me if he wants to. As Heather pointed out, Paul had a thorn in his flesh to keep him humble. Perhaps this is what boylove is intended for. There is no question, however, that God can help us to stop acting on our attraction. He has radically changed my need for pornography and masterbation in a short amount of time. Whether he will completely change me, only he knows. I am closer to being changed in a few months than I was after 5 years of expensive, grueling therapy. You are not alone. Ben |
