Greetings! Perhaps there's a cultural bias at work here. Some of us are whipping ourselves because we have FAILED to do what we perceive as being "the will of God". Culturally, we all seem to be good at guilt. But the message of Jesus is that "You will know the the truth, and the truth will set you free." If reminding myself that I am a sinner, a failure, a [.......], etc., does not set me free, then it is NOT the truth. The progressive discovery of my own authenticity is the truth that is setting me free. For me, living in the realm of God means getting real! And -- by the way -- God doesn't make decisions about incidents and events: God is the source and goal of all life! God doesn't make choices about loving: God is love!
