I rose, went forth, and followed thee. I didn't notice when I read this story on BoyWrite the first time, but I just realised, Lostboy, what your story reminds me of. There's an old hymn called "And can it be", written by Wesley, I think. I can't remember all the verses, but it goes something like this: "And can it be, that I shouldst gain an interest in the Saviour's blood. Died he for me, who caused his pain. For me, who him, to death pursued. Amazing love, how can it be, that thou, my God, shouldst die for me. ... Long my imprisoned spirit lay, Fast bound in sin and nature?s night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. ..." It was the second verse here that I thought of, reading your story. I couldn't remember it exactly, but I found the lyrics at http://tch.simplenet.com/htm/a/acanitbe.htm. Mr. Webmaster, could we have this site (tch.simplenet.com) put on the links page? It seems a darn good site for lyrics, and it took me a while to find it. Fod |
