Thanks for your encouragement, Chris! It's really important for us to find common ground with someone here and I'm glad that I'm finding it with you (See 1 Thessalonians 5:11). Keep a strong hold on what you believe is true and right, knowing that God will forgive you when falling short. It is better to strive for the mark then to try and move it closer. You take risks that you don't want to take. I once heard a really moving sermon that ended something like this: I almost read the bible.... and I almost came to know Christ... and I almost repented of my sins.... and I almost committed myself to try to live a righteous life... and I almost was forgiven for my sins.... ...I almost went to heaven.... :) You are not alone.
