"My church also baptizes children (usually teens) only when they clearly understand what they are doing and only when they have decided to accept Jesus. We follow the biblical immersion technique and there is usually lots of joy and celebration afterward."

Oh, I know it's quite common among some churches; it's just that this was one of the doctrinal issues of contention between Anglicans and other Protestants at the time of the Reformation, so it's amusing to see an Episcopal church being so apologetic about baptizing infants.

"One reply that I did get to this inquiry was that no other document has ever professed to BE the Word of God."

Well, the Koran was supposed to have been dictated by God, wasn't it? I'm not too familiar with the Eastern scriptures.

"... go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..."

I think that one can believe this and still not believe that other religions are entirely wrong in what they say.

By the way, I trust that you noticed that much of my post was intended to be semi-satirical, poking fun, not only at the church service, but at myself.
