Hi Honesty, From what I understand about prayer, if we petition the Lord, and it is in accordance with His will, then we shall have what we ask. Look in 1 John 5: 14-15: "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of Him." Now, is getting my car repaired or keeping my job according to His will? I think so because I have to travel a distance to get to my job, and I need my job, not only to provide for myself, but for my brother and his two kids. I believe that God has put them into my trust and so, yes, I think it was within God's will to ask these things. Was it too trivial a thing to ask of Him? Not unless you consider housing, feeding, and clothing family members trivial. I think God is truly interested in everything we do in our lives, and perhaps nothing is too trivial for Him. Now I wouldn't pray for healing if I got a sliver in my finger, but a job and transportation to and from that job, yes, I think that does qualify as important. Your's in Christ's love, Chris |
