Chris - Sorry for the confusion. In this case, 'amputating' would mean 'cutting out the activity which causes me to sin'. In other words, if I had to amputate, I would have to give up swimming with the twins. No, I don't think that Jesus wanted us to literally cut off body parts. But I do think that he wanted us to take it as seriously as if we would need to amputate. Your bro in Christ - Ben |
