An interesting lesson for you....

I didn't bother to post this on BoyChat because most guys there prolly woulnd't benefit from it, but I learnt something pretty kewl at church on Sunday.

As some of you may or may not already know, back in biblical days, after a man and woman were committed to be married, the man went away to build a house for his bride to be.

In the bible, Jesus proclamimed to be "Going to prepare a place for us"

Every so often, the man would visit the womans house and set up a table in the yard. On the table he would set a container of wine and a loaf of bread, then he would retreat to the forrest, or behind a building, etc.

This is similar to the act of taking communion at church

If the woman ate the bread and drank the wine, it was a sign to the man that she was still going to marry him.

However, if she came outside, then turned and went back into the house without eating the bread or drinking the wine, it was a sign to the man that she no longer wanted to be married.

Lets think about this....

Jesus instructed us to take communion, and as often as we did- to think of him. By taking that communion, we're telling him, "Yes Lord, we still want to be considered your bride when you come!!.

BUT...

By refusing to take communion, we're telling him, "No Lord, we no longer want to be considered your bridge when you come back...

This goes out to all of us who more often than not, feel very unworthy to call ourselves sons of God. Guess what, we're not worthy, not one of us. But because of Jesus, we're made worthy through him. If there is one promise I've tried to remember, it's this one: God promised he would never give us more than we can handle. So no matter what your going through, Daddy knows you can handle it.

Anyhow, Food for thought. I thought that was cool.
