Hey KILROY, Yeah, buddy, you did the right thing. Every human being is an end (a good) in and of themselves. As such, they can never be used as a means to attain an end (another good). Now, in a little less philosophical language. As you stated, you “would just be using her to get to him.” You have it right!!! It is not good to use another person to get what you desire. We tend to do that a lot in this society today, but that still does not make it right. I’m proud to be associated with you in this forum. It’s good to see that your love for God is integrated into your life enough that you can make mature decisions like this. We really need more people like you in this world – one’s who know what real love is, and can show it to others irrespective of their own desires. Now, I have to ask everyone, is this the action of someone who belongs on the fringe of society, or does it look to you, as it does to me, that maybe society could stand to take a lesson “from the fringe?” I guess being counter-cultural isn’t all that bad anyway?
