Hey Shari -
Thanks for coming by. Before I post, I'll just caution you that your statement about people here promoting sex with boys is not proved or justified. It is a sin to lie and it is a sin to bear false witness. If you have no proof (or even an indication) of such an action, you are making YOURSELF less credible by saying what you cannot show.

Okay, on to the post.

God actually did destroy Sodom however he spared Lot and his wife, who were also Soddomites. God SPARED Lot because, even though he carried the same label as all other citizens of Sodom, he was not evil. We should be sure to recall this event when we label all those who are attracted to boys as evil. Those who actually act on their attraction need to consider their actions carefully in the context of the bible. They may arrive at the conclusion that they must repent. However it is not for you to say, or to decide:

Matthew 7:1

Do not judge, or you too will be judged.

Learning to accept that not everyone is born with quite the perfection that you might see around you, in yourself and in your bretheren, can be difficult. It is easy to accept yourself when you would have everyone believe that you are without flaw. However, Paul knew better that everyone was born differently:

1 Corinthians 15:10

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

You quoted Genesis 19:4

and then said "and so it says. A boy lover, cannot be a Christian if he has not sactified his ways..."

Funny, I'm not seeing where it says that. I actually find it interesting that your only quoted scripture is from Genesis, which was the first book of the Jewish bible. How could the lesson learned from Soddom indicate to you what it means to be Christian? Christianity is based on the forgiveness of all sins through the blood of Jesus Christ. Out of reverence for Christ we look to continually turn our lives around from sin to life. I don't remember Jesus ever disowning a sinner. In fact, he said:

Luke 15:7

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not
need to repent.

According to the Merriam Webster dictionary, a Christian is "1 a : one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ". Yet Jesus said (and this is straight from the NIV:

Matthew 23:12

For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

Our lives are actually not meant to be filled with suffering and pain, but with thanks for what Jesus has done for us. We are not supposed to sit on our own perfection, but are actually suppposed to help OTHERS to understand the love of Christ:

1 Thessalonians 5

9For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
10He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

Remember, if you respond by ranting and raving then you prove that you are in violation of this scripture:

2 Timothy 2:24

And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.

In that case I will not reply to you any more. Instead I will consider this scripture for myself:

2 Timothy 2:23

Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.

Again, thanks for coming in. Your brother in Christ,

Ben
