Our Identity in Christ

Hi Everyone, And here is yet another instalment of my on-going study about our identity in the Lord. When we "become saved" or "invite Jesus into our heart", we become what the Bible calls a "new creature" in Christ. In fact, it says that we must be "born again". It also tells us that we have been "adopted" into the Family of God. Now these are some VERY powerful and posative claims to make. So I have been continualy doing this research project to see just what the Bible has to say about US....God's adopted children. And here is my latest topic: Our Identiy in Christ: I am a Joint Heir with Christ "and if children, then heirs-heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." Romans 8:17 "to open thier eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan to God, that they may recieve forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me." Acts 26:18 "In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory." Eph. 1:11-12 "giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light." Col. 1:12 What can I add to something as cool as this? God loves us so dearly that He has chosen to adopt us! He is our Father, and we, His children by adoption, have a tremendous inheritance in Him! Praise God!! Love, Chris |
