I know someone with no sexuality (or so low it's drowned out by other factors in her life). For her, it's a blessing. Some men can turn desires up or down (or even off) on a very short-term or person-by-person basis. Wedding rings are a big turn-off for me: You put the nicest, most wonderful woman (& cute to boot) in my path, and I start thinking about asking her out, etc. Show me her wedding/engagement ring or tell me she's got a boyfriend and everything comes to a screeching halt. For me, this is a blessing (it cuts down on me getting hurt or causing hurt in others later). I think "I am not alone" in this respect for cultural taboos (don't date a woman who's married). -David ("d") |
